extravolution
a) The continuance of evolution, by technological or biotechnological means, outwith and beyond (see extra-) the constraints of ordinary human (or non-human) biological evolutionary processes. First used in this exact sense in 2006 by D.J. MacLennan.
b) A nonce word [f. L. extra outwards + volvere to roll; compare revolution.] A rolling outwards; opposed to intravolution. 1829 LAMB Final Mem. viii. 265 To show the intravolutions, extravolutions of which the animal frame is capable.
