To arrange items (i.e. words) in order of the first (and subsequent) letters as they appear in the alphabet (i.e. the standard list A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z).
