herostratically

herostratically
a) To an extent that attains infamy; infamously.

It is precisely the same mode of thought, as lay behind Germanys herostratically notorious act of war when she marched through Belgium for the reason, as she said, that France had planned to march through it if she did not.

b) In a manner using any means necessary.

This is just another piece of common sense about philosophy, the one to which the pragmatists herostratically sacrificed everything else.
