legislative body
a) A political institution which holds the legislative power in a state, and often controls the executive power

Under unicameral constitutions the legislative bodies are single assemblies, in the bicameral Westminster model the legislative body is a parliament comprising two houses or chambers

b) Its equivalent, exercing legislative power at a sub-state administrative level
