Hokkien

Hokkien
a dialect subgroup of the Min Nan branch of the Chinese language which is mainly spoken in the south-eastern part of mainland China, Fujian, in Taiwan, by the Chinese minorities in Southeast Asia and by many overseas Chinese worldwide.<!This subgroup of Min Nan is also known as the Min Tai Division. It encompasses several major variants, which are generally mutually intelligible: Amoy Min (Amoy dialect), Quanzhou dialect, Zhangzhou dialect, and Taiwanese Minnan.
